Joseph F. Devlin and Michael N. Russo, Jr. to Participate in MSBA Real Property Section BreakfastMay 30, 2017 Joseph F. Devlin and Michael N. Russo, Jr. will be participating in the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) Real Property Section Breakfast on June 16, 2017. Joe will be the Program Chair, overseeing the coordination of the morning’s two educational seminars. Mike will be a panelist on the first seminar. Mike’s seminar is titled “Easing Consumer Confusion: Don’t Mix Cucumbers and Title.” The program will touch on the land title industry’s shift from a business to business model to a business to consumer model. The program is designed to educate real estate practitioners regarding the benefits of title insurance and best practices in the land title industry. This seminar will also include panelists Elizabeth M. Russo, Esq. of MCP Title Services, LLC, and Eric Schneider, Esq. of Lakeside Title. The second seminar will discuss a comprehensive review of Maryland’s law relating to organizational and individual standing in real estate development, including the purpose of standing requirements, changes to Maryland’s standing law, current status, and possible future legislative efforts. Panelists include Joseph A. Stevens, Esq. of the Law Office of Stevens Palmer, LLC, Charles R. Schaller, Esq. of Linowes and Blocher, LLP, Gregory J. Swain, Esq. of the Anne Arundel County Office of Law, and Paul Smail, Esq. of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. The breakfast will be held in conjunction with the MSBA Annual Meeting from 8:00-10:30am at the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland.
