Michael N. Russo, Jr. and Rebecca K. Schisler-Adams Win 3-Day Jury Trial on Contentious Real Property Dispute

September 10, 2024

In July 2024, attorneys Michael N. Russo, Jr. and Rebecca K. Schisler-Adams won $80,000 in actual and punitive damages, as well as easement rights, for a family in Calvert County in a dispute with a neighboring landowner over the use of the property.

Russo and Schisler-Adams represented a family against the mistreatment and threats of a neighboring landowner.  The clients’ family owned their property for over a century when a newcomer to the adjacent land instigated a contentious dispute regarding access to the property.  The matter was resolved by a jury verdict after a 3-day trial, and successful tort claims included slander of title, trespass, and conversion.
